Round the clock, on 365 days a year, the autobahn services company Autobahn Tank & Rast and its tenants provide comprehensive services on German autobahns. A wide choice of varied food and shopping facilities, sanitary facilities, accommodation, conference facilities and petrol stations await our guests. Other services go with them, ranging from ATMs, washrooms, showers and baby changing rooms to children’s playgrounds. Leading provider on German autobahns Autobahn Tank & Rast is the leading provider of services on German autobahns. With its tenants the company operates approx. 340 petrol stations and around 370 service areas (including 50 hotels). On average, customers will find a Tank & Rast petrol station or service area every 60 autobahn kilometres. Around 500 million guests a year visit Autobahn Tank & Rast service facilities. Quality and service for the customer As a service provider, Autobahn Tank & Rast focuses all of its activities on its customers. Customer orientation and consistent quality management are pillars of its business policy. That is why the company keeps a constant check on the services it provides, gearing them to the changing needs of different customers. Other strategic cornerstones are the development of innovative new concepts and services, cooperation with strong partners and brands and yield-oriented investment. Modernisation of service areas Since privatisation in 1998 the company has invested heavily, mainly in its autobahn services and petrol stations. As a part of this modernisation service areas have been modernised and the range of services on offer at autobahn service areas has been extended significantly. The vast majority of autobahn services has been modernised, expanded or reconstructed. Customers can choose from a wide range of goods. In collaboration with market-leading suppliers such as Lekkerland-Tobaccoland, continuous improvements are made to the attractiveness and topicality of goods on sale. Presentation is beeing optimised and extended in the non-food segment, too. Collaboration with strong brands Especially with the wishes of younger guests in mind, Autobahn Tank & Rast has for two years intensified its cooperation with well-known food services brands, such as Barilla, Burger King, Nordsee, Mc Donald's, Segafredo or Lavazza. As of April 2006 Tank & Rast introduced more than 180 bakery counters, 140 pasta bars (Barilla) and close to 160 coffee bars. These modern brands complement classic catering. The company and its tenants are constantly adding to and improving the range of separate and distinct, often regional dishes. SANIFAIR guarantees top toilet hygiene and comfort Almost 350 modern and comfortable SANIFAIR toilets are located nearly nationwide. Modern SANIFAIR toilets offer customers the clear performance promise of a relaxing atmosphere and top cleanliness in sanitary facilities everywhere and at any time. Sanifair makes the entire autobahn services offering more attractive. Hygienic, modern sanitary facilities increase, acceptance and use of autobahn services. Winner of the ADAC Autobahn Services Test 2007 Tank & Rast's endeavours in recent years to consistently modernise autobahn services and introduce top quality and performance standards have won it independent acclaim. In the Europe-wide ADAC Autobahn Services Test 2007, an Autobahn Tank & Rast network facility came first. Tank & Rast locations and the services they provide were found by ADAC to be among the best in Europe in areas of particular importance for motorists, such as family-friendliness, quality of restaurants and shops, and service and hygiene.
